Live Music Wednesday & Thursday At Price Tower Arts Center
By Tourism Industry Partner
BARTLESVILLE, OK – Third Thursday takes on new dimensions at Price Tower Arts Center on Thursday, October 21st. The evening will include live music from the Round Up Boys, a Spanish language tour of the current exhibition and a storytelling as a part of the annual Ghost Walk in downtown Bartlesville.
“We are very pleased to team up with Casa Hispana for a special tour of our exhibition, William Schickel: Spirit Made Manifest. The tour, with translation provided by Mili Cappelletti, is a great way for us to share what we have with Bartlesville’s Spanish-speaking community,” said Debra Woodall, marketing manager for Price Tower Arts Center.
The exhibition details the work of William Schickel from his student days at Notre Dame through his death in 2009. For more than six decades, Schickel searched for beauty and expressed it in all artistic mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, stained glass, furniture design, and sculpture most notably in conjunction with interiors he designed for both sacred and secular spaces. The exhibition includes photography, paintings and other mediums.
In addition to free gallery admission, guests can enjoy a live performance from the Round Up Boys. The so-called Purveyors of Western Swing will perform outside the Price Tower in conjunction with Downtown Unlimited’s annual Ghost Walk.
A storyteller for the Ghost Walk will be in the Price Tower sharing stories on both Wednesday and Thursday. Josh and Kyle will be performing live on Wednesday evening with their gypsy jazz sound. There will be a cash bar and free appetizers both evenings.
More information about all of the events at Price Tower Arts Center is available online at pricetower.org or you may call 918.336.4949.
William Schickel: Spirit Made Manifest is made possible through the support of ConocoPhillips, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Oklahoma Arts Council. The exhibition was organized through Katharine T. Carter and Associates, in conjunction with the William Schickel Gallery.
The Spanish language tour will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday evening and last until 7 p.m. Downtown Unlimited’s Ghost Walk begins each evening at 6 p.m.
