National Weather Center to Host 97th Annual Student Art Exhibition

NORMAN, OKLA. (March 22, 2011) "I am excited that the National Weather Center is hosting our 97th Annual Student Exhibition and thank them for their generosity. Our incredible student work willhave a wonderful setting in such a spectacular building," says Mary Jo Watson, director of the School of Art and Art History.
The University of Oklahoma School of Art and Art History announce the 97th Annual Student Art Exhibition April 1 through April 15. The free publicreception will be held from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at the National Weather Center with awards announced at 8 p.m.
This competitive juried show highlights the diverse works of art created by art and art history studentsfrom the University of Oklahoma. Multiple awards with cash prizes are presented to students. The top award, the T.G. Mays Purchase Award is offered to a student whose work of art becomes a part of The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art’s permanent collection.

The exhibition runs from April 1 through April 15. The National Weather Center is located at 120 David L.
