Norman Artists Show Recourse for Discourse at the Firehouse Art Center

NORMAN, OK – The FAC Gallery at the Firehouse Art Center will feature the work of seven up and coming Norman artists, September 9th – October 29th. The Recourse for Discourse exhibition includes work from Kate Babb, Kendall Brown, Marina Crawford, Erin Elise, Jessica Joy, Hershel Self, and Craig Swan. A reception will be held on September 9th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and a follow up artist talk and discussion will take place Friday, October 14th, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. during the 2nd Friday Circuit of Art. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is open to the public Monday – Friday from 9:30 – 5:30, and Saturday from 10:00 – 4:00.

“We are a group of artists who intend to engage, solidify and improve the art community in Norman, and promote that community as a culturally rich and vibrant place to live and work. We seek to raise questions regarding quality, professionalism, and understanding for our developing art scene to enrich the lives of those participating and those who support it by looking at art and desire to know more. “
The Firehouse Art Center is funded in part by select grants from the Oklahoma Arts Council, Norman Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the City of Norman Parks and Recreation Department, as well as a corporate sponsorship from Republic Bank and Trust.
