Norman Poet Featured at Historic Sante Fe Depot
By Tourism Industry Partner
NORMAN - Norman poet Ramona Fisher will be featured at the December 12 Performing Arts Studio’s Second Sunday Poetry Reading series. Beginning at 2:00 pm in the Historic Santa Fe Depot, 200 South Jones Avenue, Fisher will read from her book Mona’s Musings.
Fisher’s poems are mostly free verse, she says, “musing about the West, God and nature, friends and family, life and death, love and dreams.” The book also includes Haiku, which explore the “precise yet suggestive nature of poetry.”
Fisher was a featured guest poet at the Norman Public Library 14th Annual Poetry Contest in April, 2010. Emmy Award winner B. J. Wexler describes her as, “very gifted.”
Though she has lived in 11 states as she traveled the world with her Air Force husband, they now live in Norman where she enjoys her three children, six grandchildren; traveling with her husband, music, and Oklahoma Football. She is a graduate of Southwestern State University in Weatherford.
The reading is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
PAS office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 8 am to 2 pm.
