Oklahoma City - On Sunday, October 16, 2011, the Skirvin Hilton hotel in downtown Oklahoma City kicks off its Centennial Celebration Week with a "100th Anniversary Brunch" complete with a string quartet of musicians from the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.

From 10:00am - 2:00pm, violinists Mike and Cathy Reaves and violist Royce McLarry and cellist Valorie Tatge will be in the lobby of the Skirvin performing music from the early days of the Skirvin complete with period costumes. Historic characters will also be portrayed by members of Lyric Theatre as they share tales of the early Skirvin.

On Monday, October 17, the celebration continues from 5:30pm - 9:00pm with the Philharmonic's Dixie Land Jazz Band. During this time, the Philharmonic's Overture group will be hosting a come-and-go "Happy Hour" in the Skirvin lobby complete with full cash bar and fantastic door prizes.
