Oklahoma Victory Dolls' Battle Squad Hosts the Tulsa Derby Brigade
By Tourism Industry Partner
The Oklahoma Victory Dolls' Battle Squad will be hosting the Tulsa Derby Brigade out of Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, June 25th at Centennial Building at the State Fair Park, 3001 General Pershing Boulevard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 12 and under get in free with paid adult. Tickets can be purchased at Norman and Oklahoma City Guestroom Records, www.brownpapertickets.com or your favorite Victory Doll. A portion of the proceeds from the bout will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Please visit http://www.cff.org/Chapters/okc/ for more information about the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Battle Squad is Oklahoma Victory Doll's non-chartered team. Instead of playing for WFTDA rankings like the Oklahoma Victory Doll All-Stars travel team, they play for experience and to hone their derby skills. The Battle Squad gives any Victory Doll a chance to experience inter-league play, deliver big hits and have a great time playing the sport of women’s flat track roller derby. The Battle Squad skaters’ goals are to develop the skills necessary to qualify for the All-Stars travel team – so pick your favorite now and get ready to see them rise to derby stardom. A hand full of the Battle Squad will be making their inter-league debut so you don’t want to miss what these ladies got in store for you!
The Oklahoma Victory Dolls All Stars (#17, Southwest Region) are currently 4-1 this season. The only loss they have had this season is to Omaha Rollergirls (#8, Southwest Region) by only 12 points. They won the last home game 184 to 32 against the Alamo City Rollergirls Las Tejanas from San Antonio, Texas. Not only will this big win help the Dolls in the next quarter rankings with the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), but also helping will be their current FlatTrackStats.com ranking (which is roller derby’s equivalent to the NCAA’s AP poll ) which is #10 in the South Central Region. for more information about WFTDA, please visit www.wftda.com.
