Sayre Main Street Hosts Hoot & Scoot Fall Event

Get ready for lots of fun and some great entertainment! The 10th Annual Sayre Rt. 66 Hoot & Scoot, sponsored by the Sayre Main Street Program, will be held Saturday, September 24 on Sayre’s Historic Main Street.
Fun and games, a car show, food and craft vendors, street dance and other entertainment, food, poker run and bike games and brand new Whirlpool Front-Load Washer & Dryer giveaway will be packed into one huge day in Sayre.
Main Street program manager Teri Figueroa reports the following activities...
Entertainment will be available most of the day in front of the Great Plains National Bank, beginning at 10 a.m. with a new addition to the Hoot & Scoot, .
The Bed Races will start the day off in front of the Court House at 10:00 a.m. followed by other local entertainers on the stage to perform. A new event to take place in the afternoon will feature the Paint Your Wagon Races at 1 p.m. for the children. The evening will conclude with street dance featuring the talented Undefined Band.
All Wheels Car Show
The annual All Wheels Car Show will begin at 10 a.m. on the west end of the stoplight in front of InterBank. Anything on wheels can be entered. Prizes and awards will be announced at 3 p.m. A live radio remote host from 101.7 The Zoo/95.5 Coyote Country, will be announcing events through out the day. Festival-goers are asked to vote on their favorite vehicles throughout the day. The parade of cars will begin at 4 p.m.
Fun and Games
There’s always fun for all ages and the kids will enjoy the giant slide and moon bounce inflatables on the courthouse lawn. The fun begins at 10 a.m. and will continue until late in the afternoon. Other amusements will be nearby, including face painting, a clown, balloon twister/magician as well as wagon rides.
Vendors supplying all types of merchandise will line Main Street from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Shop until you drop! Food vendors will also have a variety of booths along Main Street to include Indian Tacos, corn dogs, funnel cakes and more all day long!
One of the most fun events of the day is the annual Poker Run. Registration will be at the city park. First bike is out at 9:30 a.m. The last bike should be in by 1 p.m. followed by Bike Games at 2 p.m. at the city park.
