Shidler Hosts 8th Annual Car Show
By Tourism Industry Partner
Shidler, OK---Automobile enthusiasts from across the region will gather in the northeast Oklahoma town of Shidler on August 27th, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., for the 8th Annual One-Day Car Show.
The popular event is held in Coussens Park on North Cosden Avenue. The park opens at 8:30 a.m. for registration, with the show starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the car show again will help both the city’s Volunteer Fire Department purchase a new First Responder emergency vehicle and help the Chamber of Commerce complete the Veteran’s Memorial restoration project on South Cosden Avenue, according to JR Anderson of the Shidler Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber sponsors the show.
“Coussens Park, in spite of the recent drought and hot temperatures, offers a shady venue for participants and visitors alike,” Anderson said. “We are doing our best to keep the park beautiful and shady by keeping it watered,” he added.
“With friendly people, concessions and some amazing cars, visitors can expect a fun-filled, relaxing day in the park”, Anderson said.
Dash plaques are available for the first 150 entries, and awards are presented at 3:30 p.m. There will be door prizes, goody bags, 50/50 pot, and award plaques for numerous categories. A concession stand is provided by the Shidler Volunteer Fire Department, and automotive related vendor space is available.
Pre-registration is $15. After August 22nd, it is $20. Registration forms are available online, www.shidleroklahoma.com. For more information, contact JR Anderson at 918.793.4961 or firstname.lastname@example.org
