Stafford Air & Space Museum Hosts Membership Party
By Tourism Industry Partner
August 2011 – The Stafford Air & Space Museum will host a 1950s themed SONIC Membership Party on Saturday, August 27 from 6:00-8:00pm. The party is for all current museum members and anyone interested in signing up for a museum membership.
“If you aren’t a museum member, this is a perfect opportunity to come have some fun and sign up,” said museum Event Planner Toni Ray. “And if you’re already a member or need to renew your membership, this is a perfect example of the great incentives and events we host for our members.”
The party is being sponsored and catered by SONIC and will bring a 1950s “diner” feel with hamburgers, hot dogs, onion rings, French fries and milkshakes. There will also be a do-it-yourself Rootbeer Float bar. The museum will also be hoppin’ with fifties family fun, including a hula hoop contest, 50s music and DJ, a “drive in theatre,” and many museum activities, including a museum scavenger hunt, planetarium showings, and the ever-popular flight simulators.
Paver sales for the boilerplate landscaping will also be available for purchase.
“You can put your permanent mark on the museum by buying a personalized brick that will lay the foundation for the boilerplate that sits out front of the museum,” said Ray.
The cost of the event is only $2 for current members or anyone who signs up for a membership or purchases a brick. This price will get you all of the fifties food and fun you can handle.
The cost of an individual museum membership is $35 and $65 for a family membership. Supporter, Benefactor, and Corporate Sponsorships are also available.
All members receive an ID card, 1 year free admission, Space Place Gift Shop discount, on-line newsletter, and invitation to the many different events the museum
hosts. Past events include: General Stafford’s 80th Birthday Celebration, Apollo 10 Celebration, Airport Fly-Ins, Race to the Moon 5k, Halloween’s “Fright Night,” and an annual Christmas Party. Several new events are currently in the works.
