Talihina Fall Festival Receives Arts Council Grant

Talihina’s Fall Foliage Festival received a $1250.00 Oklahoma Arts Council Grant. The festival will be held October 29 & 30 2011 from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 8:30 am to 3 pm on Sunday at the Talihina Old Gym and Gym Parking Lot. With the Assistance of the Oklahoma Arts Council the festival will be able to provide artist to entertain at the festival. Both days of the festival there will be arts and crafts, food booths an art show and live entertainment. Saturday only there will be a car show directed by Jeremy Lawson. This year’s car show is a tribute to John McLemore “Mr. Mac” who was in charge of the car show from its inception in 1997. The car show will be on Saturday October 29, from 8am until 4 pm. The 5 K Run Begins at 9 am and it is a sanctioned run and sponsored by the Choctaw Nation Wellness Center. The inflatables will be back this year for the children to enjoy for just $5.00 per arm band for all day. This is the second year for the Old West Town it will be set up at the festival with Shoot Outs and Re-Enactments Performed by the Law Breakers and Peace Makers. The Iron Road Band returns along with Lara Crank, SE OK Kids, Talihina Rhythm Cloggers and the Valley Strummers. “Trapper” will be doing the sound and performing as well.
