The Actor Factory Hosts Webcast for On-Camera Actors
By Tourism Industry Partner
Norman’s The Actor Factory will host its first live webcast, entitled 'Breaking Into the Business,' on Sunday, January 16, at 2:00 p.m. Presented by casting director and professional actor Chris Freihofer, the three-hour seminar will provide information and tips for aspiring actors looking to work on-camera.
Director and founder of Freihofer Casting and The Actor Factory, Chris Freihofer says, 'With more feature film and television production opportunities outside of Los Angeles, and with multiple opportunities in Oklahoma, our phone has been ringing off the hook with people asking how they can get started in the industry. Many people are afraid of getting scammed, and most don’t know where to begin or what the commitment might be. This seminar is geared to answer those questions.'
Freihofer has become one of the leading casting professionals in Oklahoma through his involvement with casting such films as the recent Untitled feature film shot in Bartlesville, Heaven’s Rain (2010), The Killer Inside Me (2010), Pearl (2010), Barking Water (2009), Four Sheets to the Wind (2007), and Elizabethtown (2005), as well as dozens of commercials in nine other states. His prolific acting career includes appearances in television series such as Friday Night Lights, Army Wives, and Chase, in addition to feature film roles in Leaves of Grass (2010) with Edward Norton and The ExTerminators (2009) with Heather Graham.
In 'Breaking Into the Business,' Freihofer will address topics potential actors need to understand before getting started locally and regionally, including how to choose headshots, format a resume, find a legitimate talent agent, avoid scams, and how to seek out opportunity in the industry in Oklahoma and surrounding states.
The workshop will be delivered to a sold-out audience, but paid participants will be able to view the seminar live on the internet and will have the opportunity to send in questions during the event.
Registration is $40, which includes a 25-page course packet available immediately upon registration and 30-day access to the video. Advance registration is encouraged so that attendees can review the material and develop any questions.
Participants can register online by visiting http://www.AvidInternational.com/breaking or by calling The Actor Factory at 405-701-1673.
