Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 10am to 5pm, is THOR DAY at the Toy & Action Figure Museum. The museum celebrates the May 6 opening of the latest Marvel release with lots of fun movie give-a-ways!

The Marvel Comics character, Thor, based on the Norse god of the same name, has been a major character in the Marvel Universe since the 1960’s. Several action figure incarnations of the character have appeared over the years and you can see many of them at the Toy & Action Figure Museum. Originally developed by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Thor made headlines locally a couple of years back when writer Michael Straczynski moved the character to Oklahoma.

Now, on May 6, Thor becomes the latest Marvel character to get the “movie” treatment and the museum is proud to showcase not only some of the older Thor action figures, but also some of the newest toys based on the film. A new display showcasing the Norse god will be featured on Thor Day.

Lots of cool, exclusive movie items from Marvel Studios will also be available for free to visitors on Thor Day, while supplies last.
