Tulsa Zoo Makes a Splash for Spring Break
Sea Lions Debut and Tons to Do at Your Tulsa Zoo!
TULSA, OK, March 12, 2012 –Spring Break is almost here and Tulsa Zoo’s 2,500 animals are just as excited about spring as you are! Each day will be packed with wild adventures and exciting discoveries for spring break family fun, but we are inviting MEDIA ONLY to the exclusive Tulsa Zoo Member Preview Night of the new Helmerich Sea Lion Cove FRIDAY, MARCH 16 at 5:30pm. This event is especially for Zoo Friend Members and we are offering media the opportunity to get exclusive footage of the first sea lion show and of the guests as they get their first glimpse of the new exhibit.
Tulsa Zoo is making a splash the first day of spring break by opening its newest ‘fin-tastic’exhibit Helmerich Sea Lion Cove to the general public SATURDAY, MARCH 17, 2012. Tulsa Zoo’s resident California sea lions, Dorsey and Briney have been preparing for their debut on the first day of Spring Break. There will be daily sea lion demonstrations, feedings and a chance to see Dorsey and Briney up close in the underwater viewing area!
Throughout Spring Break, Tulsa Zoo will keep the fun hoppin’ (literally!) with the Bounce Pro Fun Zone, featuring Bounce Pro inflatables. Get a wristband for only $5 and let the kids jump all they want all week long. Then also leap onto “The Frogger”, a high-flying trampoline, or scale “The Monolith” rock-climbing wall. Take a spin on the Arvest Wildlife Carousel, board the ONEOK Safari Train or jump on a hump for a camel ride.
The zoo’s Cox Nature Exchange has something the whole family will really ‘dig’ with the Hardesty Gem Dig. Guests will get their hands dirty as they dig for fossils, gems, polished rocks and shells in the ‘dig site’. The best part? You find it, you keep it!
Spring Break will be busy at the Tulsa Zoo, but members get to skip those long lines! Not a zoo member yet?
