Claremore is a busy place to be this holiday season! There are many great activities going on throughout the area and at our beautiful attractions. Santa Cash will be kicking off November 18 at local participating merchants. Shop Claremore and get tickets for chances to win up to $10,000. The Santa Cash drawing will be held Saturday, December 17 at 12 pm, at Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs. A list of the participating merchants is located on the Claremore Chamber of Commerce’s website, www.claremore.org, or you can call (918) 341-2818.

A Miracle on 34th Street will be showing at the Robson Performing Arts Center on December 1st at 7 p.m. This musical version of the well-known movie is sure to be a holiday favorite with people of all ages! Tickets are on sale now for this event! Call the Robson PAC at (918) 699-7390 or go online at www.myticketoffice.com.

The Belvidere Mansion is decorated in true Victorian beauty for the Holidays. “Christmas at the Belvidere” will be happening through December 17. Enjoy lunch in the tea room, browse the gift shop for wonderful Christmas gifts, and view this beautiful part of Claremore’s history as it shines. The Belvidere is open for business Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 am to 3 pm.

Claremore will be hosting its annual Lighted Christmas parade on December 3rd. Applications are still being taken for float entries; they can be found at www.claremore.org. The weekend of December 3rd and 4th also brings arts and crafts to the JM Davis Arms & Historical Museum. There will be a variety of vendors set up with antique toys, arts, crafts, jewelry, cowgirl and western gifts, and much more! Hours for the show are 10 am-5 pm Saturday and 12-5 pm Sunday.

Shepherd’s Cross will be hosting their annual Living Nativity December 8-10 and 15-17. The Living Nativity is a walk through event, reminiscent of that first Holy Christmas.  Live character portrayals include Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, the wise men and angels.  The stable will be filled with live animals, and there is opportunity to interact with them.  Animals included in the scene are sheep, goats, donkeys, mules, dogs, chickens, guineas, ducks, and horses.  The nativity is housed indoors in an authentic Amish built gambrel roof barn. There will be other activities along the way as well. Admission is free; Shepherd’s Cross is open 10 am-8:30 pm daily.

The Nut House on Route 66 is going to be offering helicopter rides December 9 through 23 to view the Christmas lights around the area! They can do day or night rides; reservations are required. Please call (956) 744-7742 to make your reservations. The helicopter has three seats; minimum of two must be purchased per flight. On December 10 the Nut House will be having a Christmas Wine Festival. There will be four wineries from around the area; Oak Hills, Sparks, Whispering Pines, and Blue Coyote. Admission is $10 (includes 10 tastings) or $5 for non-tasters.

Claremore will be ringing the New Year in with style! The Claremore Expo Center will be hosting Danger Zone Bull Bash and Dancin’ in the Dirt. Starting at 7 pm will be a bull riding with world class cowboys, champion bucking bulls, and a battle of wills! After the bull riding there will be live entertainment; Darrel Cole & the Transcontinental Band and Justin Anderson & the Western Playboys. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children 12 & under, 5 and under are free.

Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs is having live entertainment, dinner in the Finish Line, party favors, cider at midnight along with a balloon drop, and lots of cash drawings to celebrate the beginning of 2012. Reservations are required for dinner; call 918-283-8884 for more information.
