Visiting Pianist Performs Beethoven, Bernstein and Copland

(Norman, Okla.) October 10, 2011- The University of Oklahoma School of Music presents the Norton Visiting Artist Series with a piano concert featuring Andrew Cooperstock at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Sharp Concert Hall. Cooperstock will also hold a master class from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Sharp Concert Hall. The master class is free and open to the public.
His program for the concert includes Beethoven's "Andante favori, WoO 57" and "Appassionata Sonata, Op. 57," Leonard Bernstein's "Non troppo presto" and "Sonato for the Piano," and Aaron Copland's "El Salon Mexico."
Cooperstock has performed as soloist or chamber player in most of the fifty states. He has also given lectures and recitals at the in Berlin, Latvia, and in France, among others. Currently he is a senior member of the keyboard faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
