Eagle Tours & Loon Watches
Jan 21, 2017 - Mar 4, 2017
every Saturday
9am at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge; 2pm at Tenkiller State Park
Come and enjoy eagle tours on the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge each Saturday. Tours are on a first come first serve basis, as a tour bus will be provided for the tour. Those that do not wish to ride the bus may caravan around the refuge with the tour bus. Stops will be held at two nesting sites, as well as other points of interest where bald eagles may be viewed. At least two spotting scopes will be provided so that visitors will be able to get up-close views of resident eagles on the nest. After the eagle tour, make your way to Tenkiller State Park at 2pm for a loon tour. We will meet at the Driftwood Nature Center. Visitors may follow the naturalist in their own vehicles, stopping to view loons along the way. Lake Tenkiller is a very attractive place for these winter migrants so come get a glimpse of these beautiful birds. Feel free to bring your own spotting scope but one will be available for us to watch the loons if you do not have your own.
