This prehistoric fish who used to roam Oklahoma's inland seas is on display at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman.  The large number of prehistoric creatures on display make this a popular family hot spot.
Norman is the home of the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History on the University of Oklahoma campus.  The museum's resident dinosaurs, gargantuan prehistoric bugs, nature dioramas and walk-through cave make it extremely popular with the kids.
The whole family will enjoy taking a ride in the "Dinovator" elevators at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.  One takes you up through the belly of the beast and the other brings you eye to eye with the world's largest Apatosaurus.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is home to many mounted dinosaur skeletons.  This scary-looking guy was somewhat like a giant ostrich.
When traveling Route 66, you can't miss POPS with its gargantuan glowing pop bottle in Arcadia.  The POPS diner serves up family-friendly meals, while the store sells Route 66 merchandise and is famous for its selection of hundreds of flavors of soda pop.
POPS has quickly become a Route 66 icon with its towering LED pop bottle.  The convenience center includes a gas station and diner, but it is best known for its vast selection of hundreds of flavors of soda pop that are quite popular with the kids.

Boating is a popular family activity at Lake Thunderbird State Park in Norman.  With 86 miles of shoreline, the uncrowded waters are a perfect family playground.
