It's definitely worth getting up early to marvel at a Lake Eufaula sunrise.  Lake Eufaula State Park and Arrowhead State Park offer front row seats to these magnificent displays.
The Mountain Fork River is a lovely site as it ripples across rocks and tumbles over low falls.  The river runs through the Beavers Bend State Park area and offers trout fishing as well as canoe trips and swimming areas.
Deer are frequent visitors at Beavers Bend State Park in southeastern Oklahoma.
Black Mesa State Park & Nature Preserve features interesting rock formations, wide open skies and an abundance of wildlife native to this ecoregion.  Located in northwestern tip of the Oklahoma panhandle, this area is home to the state's highest point atop Black Mesa and a marker denotes the point at which Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico borders meet.
