The museum's exhibits cover the time period from 1889 to 1913, in Oklahoma's history. They cover the first land run in the territory; the events leading up to April 22, 1889; territorial lifestyles including that of homesteader and urban city dweller; and a major exhibit chronicling the events and issues leading up to Oklahoma's statehood. Artifacts and documents of the 1889 Land Run and settlement of Guthrie, the first capital of Oklahoma. Donations appreciated. Living history and hands-on educational programs available by appointment. Come out and enjoy the new, temporary outdoor exhibit titled Opportunity Awaits: The African American Experience in Territorial Oklahoma from February 14, 2009 to January 31, 2010.
