| National Four-String Banjo Hall of Fame Museum | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Located in Bricktown in downtown Oklahoma City, the National Four-String Banjo Hall of Fame Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to the preservation and promotion of America's only native musical instrument--the banjo. During your visit, through an array of sights and sounds, you will experience the evolution of the banjo from primitive folk instruments to the opulent Jazz Age creations of the 1920s. You will marvel at the museum's collection of the most beautiful and ornately decorated banjos on public display anywhere, each one a work of art! The Hall of Fame honors the historically significant pioneers of four-string banjo performance, manufacturing and education as well as contemporary artists who carry on the music traditions of their predecessors. Throughout the year, the museum offers an active schedule of guided tours, educational programs and entertaining events, culminating with the Jazz Banjo Festival held each year throughout the Bricktown district.
