At one time thousands of sod houses dotted the plains region of North America. This "soddy" built by Marshal McCully in 1894 is the only one still standing in Oklahoma that was built in the homestead era. Furnished and preserved by the Oklahoma Historical Society, features include authentic artifacts of early farm life, outbuildings, cellar, equipment and farm machinery. Guided tours available with advance notice. Seasonal hours: Summer (April 1-October 31), Winter (November 1-March 31).
