Recipient of a national preservation award, and listed as an historic site, this beautiful two-story museum provides extensive exhibits on the culture and history of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. It was also once the headquarters for the black (African/Creek Indian) Lighthorsemen. In addition, in 1937, Rufus Buck, black Indian leader of an outlaw gang that terrorized the Creek Nation in the late 1800s was detained here after his arrest.
