Government research lab specializing in severe and hazardous weather research. Our mission is aimed at understanding weather phenomena, improving forecasting and warning techniques, developing operational applications, and transferring information to the National Weather Service and other public and private sector agencies. Our tours take place in our conference room, and consist of a 35 minute presentation and a 20 minute video about the science conducted at our lab. Groups up to 30 people can be accommodated, ages 7th grade and above, with advance notice. Tours for individuals and families are scheduled periodically; please review our web site for the next available tour. Pre-registration required. Drop-in visitors are not allowed without prior registration.
