Visit the Armstrong Auditorium in Edmond this January to witness as the legendary Russian National Ballet Theatre performs "The Sleeping Beauty." Set to Tchaikovsky's soaring score and choreographed by Marius Petipa, The Sleeping Beauty is the story of a young princess named Aurora who falls asleep after pricking her finger. Only a kiss from the prince will break the spell.

The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in Moscow during the transitional period of Perestroika in the late 1980s, when many of the great dancers and choreographers of the Soviet Union's ballet institutions were exercising their newfound creative freedom by starting new, vibrant companies. These ballet companies were dedicated not only to the timeless tradition of classical Russian ballet, but to the invigoration of ballet with new developments gathered from around the world.

This show will be held within the Armstrong Auditorium, an 823-seat world-class center for the arts in central Oklahoma.
