See the story of Bass Reeves come to life during the Bass Reeves Western History Conference. Bass Reeves was the first African-American to be commissioned as a U.S. Deputy Marshal west of the Mississippi River. After Oklahoma gained statehood in 1907, Jim Crow laws prevented him from continuing as a deputy marshal, and he joined the Muskogee Police Department.

This event is ticketed and includes territorial re-enactors, special speakers, interactive tours, documentaries, contests, food and fun. Learn about Bass, the Light Horseman and other historic figures during the Indian Territory time period. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to dress in Western attire.
