Lake Texoma, an 88,000-acre water playground provides some of the best fishing in the nation. The most popular species is the striped bass. Lake Texoma is also known for an abundance of crappie, white bass, black bass, various catfish, and sunfish.

Lake Texoma project lands are open to the public for hunting, offering whitetail deer, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, ducks, geese, cottontail rabbits and squirrel. The Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge located at Tishomingo and Hagerman Wildlife Refuge located at Pottsboro, TX provide feeding and resting areas for ducks and geese using the Continental Central Flyway.

Lake Texoma offers a multitude of amenities for most anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. The Corps of Engineers offers 10 different campgrounds with a total of over 600 individual campsites. There are resorts and marinas, full hook up RV sites and tent campsites, fishing guides, riding stables, equestrian trails, hiking trails, restrooms and showers, group shelters, picnic areas, playgrounds, boat rentals and many other facilities to accommodate all visitors. Scuba diving opportunities also found at the lake. Over 22 commercial concessions are also located adjacent to the lake.
