Delve into your past at the Cherokee Family Research Center in Tahlequah. Whether you know or just suspect you are Cherokee, the friendly staff and abundant resources at this research center are ready to aid you on your quest for information. Located inside the Cherokee Heritage Center, the Cherokee Family Research Center is open to anyone with paid admission into the museum. Resources include information on the Cherokee people from the Trail of Tears to the Dawes Enrollment, as well as Cherokee Advocate newspapers from 1845-1906, the 1890 Cherokee Nation Census, seminary records, records from the Watt Christie Cemetery in Wauhillau and much more.

Admission into the museum also allows visitors to browse museum exhibits including the Trail of Tears exhibit, as well as take a guided tour through the Ancient Cherokee Village and a self-guided tour through Nofire Farms and Adams Corner Rural Village.



Admission Prices:
Adults: $8.50.
Seniors (55+) & college students: $7.50.
Youth (5-18): $5.
Children (Under 5) & Cherokee National Historical Society Members: free.
