Covered Wagon

Spending the night in a covered wagon might sound like roughing it, but it’s actually quite a luxurious treat for Robbers Cave State Park guests. The interior has queen-sized bunk beds, a microwave and a mini-fridge, and the space is heated and air-conditioned. Restrooms and showers are nearby in the equestrian campground.

Yurts

Glamp in style with a stay in a yurt. These round, tent-like structures hearken back nearly three millennia to the steppes of Central Asia where they were the preferred domicile for the horse-riding nomads of the region. Each structure has heating, air conditioning, beds and other furniture along with microwaves and mini-refrigerators. The yurts' surroundings vary by park. Natural Falls State Park has five yurts that are tucked away near the waterfall, while Robbers Cave State Park has two yurts found right along Lake Carlton. At Lake Eufaula State Park, there’s one right on Hummingbird Beach and two others in more secluded areas.

Wall Tents

Bring your bedroll and cozy up around the fire with a stay in a wall tent at Osage Hills State Park. Tucked away at the edge of a wooded campground, these canvas tents promise the chance to camp in style with wooden floors, cots and a wood burning stove for those chilly fall nights. Each tent sleeps up to six with comfort stations nearby.

Teepees

Lake Huts

Small cabin-type structures called lake huts can be found at McGee Creek State Park. Eight rustic lake huts are available near the Potapo Campground. Each offers a back porch overlooking the lake, bunk beds, a fireplace and air conditioning. Linens are not provided. Water service and barbecue grills are available outside each hut. Restrooms with showers are located within walking distance. Pets are allowed to stay in the huts for a small fee.
