Head to scenic Beavers Bend State Park for the Master Woodworking Artist of the Year Exhibit, an event combining nature and art at the Forest Heritage Center Museum. Surrounding forests in southeast Oklahoma provide the medium for talented artists who carve, turn and sculpt the wood into magnificent forms. With over 50 tree species found within a one-mile radius of the museum's location, artists select their material from a diverse array of native woods. Many artists harvest dead standing, fallen timber or knots and burls otherwise unsuitable for construction, adding to Oklahoma’s forestry industry. Don't miss your chance to see these inspirational wood works for a limited time this spring.
