The Marland Mansion & Estate was built between 1925 and 1928 at a cost of $5.5 million, after E.W. Marland took a trip to Florence, Italy and saw the Davanzati Palace. Under master architect John Duncan Forsyth, artists, decorators and sculptors combined their talents to create this "Palace on the Prairie."

The Marland Mansion contains 43,561 square feet distributed over four levels. Enter another time and place on a guided tour of the palatial home. Among the 55 rooms, guests will discover breathtaking details such as Waterford crystal chandeliers, gold leaf-covered ceilings, hand carved details in limewood and oak paneled walls, rich tapestry and Sheffield plate wall sconces. Guides will also uncover the scandalous story of Lydie, Marland's adopted daughter who became his second wife, and the tumultuous rise and fall of the Marland Oil Company, now Conoco.

Mansion grounds also include the Bryant Baker Gallery & Artist Studio, an oil museum, Lydie's cottage and Lake White Marsh, named after Mr. Marland's yacht. The Ponca Military Academy Museum is also located in the Oil Building on the Marland Mansion & Estate grounds. From 1940-1974, the Cadets received an accredited education and disciplined training on the site. The current PMA collection depicts uniformed Cadets in their barracks quarters, medals, scrapbooks, photographs and other memorabilia.
