Quartz Mountain Flyer Excursion Trip
Climb aboard the Quartz Mountain Flyer, a passenger excursion train that runs through southwest Oklahoma's beautiful scenery, to enjoy a two-hour narrated trip from Quartz Mountain to Lone Wolf. All ages will enjoy this enthralling ride through the Oklahoma landscape, featuring the Wichita Mountains, Lake Altus-Lugert and the surrounding farmlands. Hear naturalist Sue Hokanson detail the formation of the mountains, as well as the construction of the lake and dam. The train ride departs from Quartz Mountain, located at the intersection of Routes 44 and 44A, and includes a brief stopover with snacks at Lone Wolf before heading back to Quartz Mountain. The Quartz Mountain Flyer is operated in cooperation with the Farmrail Corporation and the Lone Wolf Greeters Association. Tickets should be paid for in advance.
