A celebration of Oklahoma and International Archaeology Month at the only prehistoric, Native American, archaeological site in Oklahoma open to the public, the Spiro Mounds. All day long an archaeologist will be on hand to identify visitor artifact collections. There will be flintknapping demonstrations during the day and lectures on the history of the area. Archaeologist Dennis Peterson will lead a tour of the site at 2pm. This fun event offers free admission.
