The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) presents one of the fastest growing equestrian disciplines in the world during the NRHA Futurity Championship Show inside the Jim Norick Arena at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. One of the most elite reining events in the world, nearly 3,000 entries from more than 20 countries will compete in all classes in front of approximately 125,000 spectators this November and December.

Reining is a judged event designed to show the athletic ability of a ranch-type horse within the confines of a show arena. In NRHA competition, contestants are required to run a pre-selected, approved pattern, included in the NRHA Handbook. Each pattern includes small slow circles, large fast circles, flying lead changes, rollbacks over the hocks, 360-degree spins done in place, and exciting sliding stops that are the hallmark of the reining horse.

Come to this equestrian event to witness open riders compete for $350,000 Championship Prize. In 2021 there were more than 1,4000 horses competing for a total of $2.8 million in purse and prizes throughout the entire show. This event will also include the Markel Futurity Sales and a trade show featuring everything from Western clothing and home decor, to gifts and equine supplies.
