Come and participate in this bike ride through beautiful southern Oklahoma with routes of 10, 20, 30, 46 and 100 miles. Enjoy a great ride through stunning scenery on well-paved country roads. Come to the Alfalfa Bill Century Bike Ride for either a relaxing ride on the level, smooth blacktop of a tree-lined road out to the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge or challenge yourself to the headlining Century Ride.
This event's Century Ride is a full 100-mile ride that welcomes and attracts riders from all over Oklahoma as well as surrounding states. Routes of the Alfalfa Bill Century Bike Ride are on paved, rural, lightly-traveled roads. Riders are supported by sag wagons and rest stops are approximately every 10 miles. There will be snacks available including the famous Alfalfa Bill power cookies, bananas, pickles and water. Expect some rolling hills.
For a bit of history, Dr. Kirk Rodden of Murray State College is working on an audio file discussing the life of Alfalfa Bill and his historical significance to the area that riders can listen to as they travel Johnston County.
For non-riders who come to support family members or friends in the race, the surrounding area offers plenty of Chickasaw history, the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge, the lovely Blue River, retail therapy, and Blake Shelton's Ole Red Restaurant & Music Venue - all great places to visit while waiting for loved ones to cross the finish line.
