Lights on the Island
Nov 17, 2017 to Dec 25, 2017
Lights on the Island in Lake Wister State Park began over ten years ago with just a few donated lights. After years of dedication to the displays, the spectacular light show has grown with radiant color each and every year. Over 300 light displays cover the entire island with several animated displays. Each year, children can't wait to see the huge dinosaurs, the tumbling bears and Santa Claus.
The highlight of the tour is the 32-foot-tall Lady Liberty. Visitors come from all parts of the area and bordering states to take the light tour at Lights on the Island. A joint effort of the staff at Lake Wister State Park, LeFlore County Development Coalition and Poteau Chamber of Commerce, each new season of the event is bigger and brighter.
