Bigheart Day in Barnsdall is a time for residents and visitors to get together to enjoy good food, entertainment and fun. This family event includes a fishing derby, games, arts and crafts, vendor booths, live music and a parade. Named after Chief Bigheart of the Osage Tribe, Bigheart Day is a citywide event.  Friday events include a golf luncheon and outing. On Saturday morning, a fishing contest for kids will be held at Lake Waxhoma. Stick around for the parade down Main Street, concession booths, the annual car and motorcycle show and the popular Bigheart Day Idol Search, featuring local talent competing on stage for the top prize. Other events include tricycle race, frog and turtle races and a hula hoop competition. Don't miss the festival's fireworks, featuring a stunning display of lighting, sound and pyrotechnics after the sun goes down. On Sunday, there will be a veterans memorial service at 2pm.
