Go behind the scenes of history during Chautauqua in the Park. Held on the grounds of the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum, this thought-provoking program offers multiple days of workshops, living history events and nightly entertainment.

This year's Chautauqua theme is "From Pizarro to Picasso: Hispanic Legacy in America Today." Attend workshops led by a different scholar in historical character, where you'll learn about a topic specific to a fascinating moment in history.

Meet five characters in history during this year's program: Francisco Pizarro (Hank Fincken), Bartolome de las Casas (Paul Vickery), Elizabeth Catlett (Ilene Evans), Ernest "Che" Guevara (Joey Madia) and Pablo Picasso (Doug Mishler).

Workshop-goers frequently bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy during breaks. Each night, a different scholar will give a presentation in character followed by a Q&A session from the audience, first in character, then as a scholar.

Local musicians will entertain the audience briefly before each evening's performance. A variety of snacks will be available for purchase. Make an evening of it and enjoy the ambiance of a summer night under the tent while immersing yourself in history.
