Fort Towson Homecoming
Food and fun are on the agenda at the Fort Towson Homecoming, a citywide celebration in Fort Towson held annually in June. Start off the festival with a pancake breakfast Friday morning. Vendors will be on hand Friday and Saturday for shopping, and events include a fish fry, ice cream social, cake and pie auction and pony express race.
Saturday morning, secure a seat along Highway 70 for the 9am parade, and watch floats, bands, riders on horseback and more as they roll through Fort Towson. Enjoy a princess and queen contest, homemade ice cream vendors and a variety of children's games at the Fort Towson Homecoming.
Sample savory barbecue at the old fort Saturday from 11:30am-1pm, watch the horseshoe tournament and the alumni basketball game, then stick around for the street dance, starting at 7pm. Be sure to stick around for live music each evening, featuring The Jerry Tims Band and more.
