The McLoud Blackberry Festival, which began in the 1940s, is one of the oldest continously running festivals in the state of Oklahoma. Originally, the festival combined the celebration of the annual blackberry harvest with a town picnic, but now it has grown into a larger event that showcases the community each and every year.

Blackberry-themed events include the selling of fresh blackberries and blackberry cobbler at the Chamber booth, a blackberry item on each food vendor's menu, the annual Blackberry Parade on Broadway in downtown McLoud on Saturday morning and the continuing tradition of the Blackberry Royalty Pageant with judging Friday evening and crowning ceremony Saturday.

After the parade, enjoy children's games such as old-fashioned sack races and turtle races. In addition, the Blackberry Festival includes a car show, blackberry recipe baking contest, a "cobbler gobbler" eating contest as well as various food, craft, merchandise and home improvement vendors. Live entertainment can be seen onstage Friday night and Saturday night. Saturday night ends with a spectacular fireworks show you won't want to miss.
