Opening Night is a New Year's Eve celebration with music, dancing, theater and fireworks. Since 1987, Opening Night has been the way to ring in the New Year in downtown Oklahoma City. All performances take place in a safe, family-friendly environment in venues around the downtown area; a wristband permits attendees into all the venues. Come to Opening Night and enjoy a variety of performances from some of Oklahoma's brightest stars on 7 stages.
Finding Opening Night activities is simple. Festivities take place in the Civic Center and Bicentennial Park, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, City Hall and the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library. Parking is available in lots and garages located throughout the downtown area and within walking distance of the performance sites. All parking garages will be accessible.
Opening Night offers a variety of party favors available for purchase that will ensure you are colorful, shiny, loud and sure to stand out. Find the perfect hat, horn, noisemaker and glow necklace in the Civic Center lobby or the atrium of the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library.
The countdown to midnight begins at 11:30pm with an elaborate sound and light show at Bicentennial Park. At midnight, the skyline will light up with a magical fireworks extravaganza to welcome the new year.
