Celebrate the birthday of the "Dick Tracy" cartoon in Pawnee during a community event for all ages. Created by Chester Gould, a cartoonist born and raised in Pawnee, "Dick Tracy" debuted  in 1931. Pawnee is also home to the world's largest Dick Tracy mural.

Birthday cake will be served during the party at the Dick Tracy Headquarters, located in the Pawnee County Historical Museum. Visitors will enjoy a police paradem preceded by the Pawnee Black Bear Band and kids in Super Hero costumes and with a proclamation by the mayor at 10am, featuring regional vehicles including police cars, firetrucks, highway patrol and more. Visitors to Dick Tracy Birthday will also enjoy various vendor booths set up in Courthouse Square. This family-friendly event includes student art displays, art on the square, crafters and live entertainment. Sidewalk sale market, as well as Dick Tracy souvenirs, movies and radio shows.
