Hugo, also known as Circus City, gained its secondary name in 1937 when local Hugo businessman and circus fan Vernon Pratt went to Mena, Arkansas to talk to the owner of the Al G. Kelly Miller Bros. Circus. Pratt offered to house the circus in Hugo during winter, and Circus City, USA was born. ‚ÄčToday, three circuses that call Hugo home: Carson & Barnes, Kelly Miller and Culpepper & Merriweather.

An ode to Hugo's unique history, Angie's Circus City Diner serves up a variety of classic Oklahoma cuisine surrounded by circus memorabilia. Stop here for some of the best chicken fried steaks in Oklahoma, along with other Southern-style favorites in the Circus City. Known for great home cooking since 1998, choose from other Angie's favorites like meatloaf, fried catfish and more. Whatever you choose, there's a good chance friendly owners Randy and Angie are personally cooking up your order.
