The Philbrook Museum of Art hosts the Philbrook Festival each winter, an annual holiday tradition in Tulsa. Experience this six-week community celebration of the season, and see the museum decked out in festive Christmas decorations, holiday lights reflecting the spirit of the season and exciting winter events.
From the front gate to the back gardens, tens of thousands of lights illuminate the property during the Philbrook Festival. The museum interior will boast four decorated trees, along with a 15-ft centerpiece tree in the Rotunda entrance, located beneath a glimmering paper snowflakes. Stop and take photos at strategically-placed stops along the grounds, gardens and exhibits. Perhaps the main attraction for the kids, the Mezzanine will feature Lego Village, a display of dozens of Lego creations put together by school children and local organizations.
The festive atmosphere reaches its peak during special Festival Nights held throughout the Philbrook Festival, with lights illuminating the gardens. At Festival Nights, local performers will fill the museum with live music, and Kitchen 27 will serve seasonal eats. Guests can also converge at communal picnic tables and participate in self-guided activities.
The festival kicks off on November 23, when the Museum comes alive at night for the rest of the holiday season. Come back on the 24th for even more exciting seasonal fun, or bring the family on November 30 for the Festival Drawing Rally night, an art-making spectacle bringing in dozens of local artists to compete to create art as quickly as possible. Watch these skilled artists race against the clock to produce as many drawings as possible within three one-hour rounds. Each drawing is for sale as soon as it's posted to the display wall, so act quickly!
The Philbrook Festival continues the holiday fun into December, when Christmas comes in full swing on the 7th. Enjoy visits with Santa, train rides, LEGO village and much more this month. Bring your family on December 9 to create one-of-a-kind art projects perfect for holiday gift-giving with a personal touch. Enjoy refreshments, story times, and a photo with Santa. Festivities continue on December 14 and 21, with live music and delicious food. Visit the Museum on Christmas Eve for unforgettable entertainment and activities. The holiday cheer continues two more nights after Christmas on December 28, and the festival comes to a fun-filled close on New Year's Eve.
