In 1892, the Dobson Family stopped their covered wagon in Miami and made it their hometown. From their homestead and passion for history and learning, they created the Dobson Museum that features more than 5,000 historical items from Ottawa County in several exhibits.

Now operated by the Ottawa County Historical Society, the museum sits about a block off of Route 66, and a section of the building is dedicated to The Mother Road. Exhibit topics also include the nine Native American tribes headquartered in the region, famous residents and more facts about mining, military and life in the area. Explore the historic Dobson home, museum and gardens to learn more about the unique history and figures of Ottawa County.
