Straw Family Farm
The Straw Family Farm in northeastern Oklahoma is a fully functional farm caring for a wide variety of livestock including sheep, cows, goats, horses, chickens and more. Visitors are welcome five days a week, including weekends in the summer and by appointment in the winter. Visitors are able to experience what the farm does on a daily basis and to interact and feed the animals. Weather permitting, kids can also ride B'Day the cow or one of the horses on the farm. Don't forget your camera so you can snap all the pictures you want.
There are plenty of activities to take part in on the farm. You can learn about how they use wool grown by the animals on the farm, producing yarn and roving as well as making soaps and other wearable Made In Oklahoma items. Lessons are available and include crocheting, spinning, general animal care as well as processing wool. From goat soap to roping to textiles, there is so much available to see and do on the farm, and farm staff will help customize your visit so you have the best time possible.
