The OU Aviation Festival at the Max Westheimer Airport in Norman is sure to be fun for everyone and especially for plane enthusiasts. The day includes an open house, static aircraft displays, tours of the control tower and much more. Children will have a blast with the hands-on experience at the Sooner Flight Academy and Sooner Jr. Kids Club. Visitors will see a wide variety of aircrafts including a Chinook, Cirrus SR 22 Turbo, WWII T-6 Texans, King Air C90, Cherokee Warrior and biplanes and helicopters. Interact with the OU Police Department, dog, Caesar, and local fire department, law enforcement and first responders. Visitors will also have the opportunity to question different news stations, pilots and emergency personnel. Radio Control air crafts will be flying from 9am-1pm, and Sooner Schooner’s Boomer and Sooner ponies will be on-site for fan photos. Grab a snow cone or head inside to Ozzie’s Diner where you can order from the regular menu or get a quick hotdog lunch special in the courtyard.
