Melvin's Drive Inn
In Mangum, Melvin’s Drive Inn has been serving fresh, classic diner fare since before it was considered old-fashioned.
Opened in 1957, Melvin ran his drive-in until his passing in 2011. After being shuttered for two years, John Travis bought the restaurant. Travis, a lifelong Mangum resident, grew up eating at Melvin’s and reopened the roadside diner with the express intent of remaining faithful to the original recipes while doing his part to keep another business from closing in his hometown. Whether its fresh burger patties, hand-cut fries, freshly breaded Rex’s chicken, hand mixed shakes or the steak sandwich, enjoy everything on the menu prepared exactly as it was when Melvin first opened the doors.
