Surrounded on three sides by the gorgeous Ouachita National Forest, Copper Sky Ranch is a unique getaway in southeast Oklahoma. Book a stay in the private 27-foot tipi or rent a UTV off-road vehicle and explore a variety of nearby trails. Located in Big Cedar, Copper Sky Ranch also offers gold panning kits and metal detector rentals. Off-road trail maps include the Blue Hole, the famous K-Trail, Kiamichi River, Cedar Creek, Ice Age Glacier Rock trail, Pidgeon Creek, Lovers' Lane Trail, Old Fire Tower and Sunset Vista Trail. Trail guides are available.

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind stay in the teepee, which was made by the same company that made all the teepees in the movie “Dances with Wolves.” Amenities include a queen-sized cedar bed with memory foam mattress, love seat that folds out to a full-sized bed, luxury linens with many blankets and a down comforter. A circular, concrete fire pit is set into the floor, creating a wonderful rustic ambience.

Guests will also have use of a cooking grate, board games, cards, volleyball/badminton game, horseshoes pits game, deluxe hammock for two, a bath basket with towels, washcloths, hand sanitizer and more. Copper Sky Ranch is also pet-friendly ($25 pet fee). Groups also have the option to rent the tipi and pitch tents nearby. The teepee can comfortably seat 12 people around the fire pit where you can marvel at the star-filled night sky in your comfortable zero gravity reclining camp chairs. A lighted gravel pathway leads to your private porta-john and private outdoor shower.

The tipi at Copper Sky Ranch is named "Soaring Eagle Lodge" for the Bald Eagles that come to build their nests and raise their young in the tall pines nearby. The teepee sits above the stocked pond Willow Pond and is just a moments walk away with a picnic table and four chairs for you to sit and listen to the whippoorwills. The weekend cabin sits on 5.5 acres ensuring guests plenty of privacy.

Stroll down the trails that lead to the forest and beside Big Cedar Creek. Take a basket with you and pick the wild blackberries, blueberries or muscadine. The Winding Stair Mountain Range is in our backyard and the famous Talimena Scenic Byway (Hwy 1) is only five minutes away. The five acre property is bordered by the forest on three sides, which allows you access to over 10,000 acres for hunting, hiking, climbing, riding, bird watching and exploring nature.

Copper Sky Ranch also offers tent camping, fishing in the spring-fed pond, hiking, wildlife watching and u-pick wild blackberries and muscadines. Enjoy the mountain vistas and exploring the forest trails.
