This Santa Fe Depot Mural reveals what the Ponca City Depot looked like in the 1920s. This mural includes historic town figures like George, E.W. and Lydie Marland of Marland Oil, a luggage boy and railroad employees, all of whom would travel in and out of this Spanish Missions Revival-style depot. Artists from Palmer Studios also painted train cars into this mural, including E.W. Marland’s personal business car, “The Ponca City,” a 101 Ranch office car and a locomotive steam engine, to display the importance of the train depot on Ponca City’s development.
