In 2011, Oklahoma artist and former assistant professor of fine art Steve Breerwood completed a public mural on the University of Sciences and Arts of Oklahoma campus. “Universal Creativity” attracts attention to the Davis Hall entrance upon which it was painted. When painting this mural with fast-drying acrylic paints, Breerwood took inspiration from varying art forms and disciplines including literature, science, philosophy and history. This USAO mural depicts a muse and a lamp to represent the arts and the Milky Way and bower bird to represent the physical and natural sciences.
